Preventive Controls Qualified Individual Blended Course
Tuesday, May 17, 2022 | 8:00am – 5:00pm | OSU Wooster Campus

The Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) Preventive Controls for Human Food regulation is intended to ensure safe manufacturing/processing, packing and holding of food products for human consumption in the United States. The regulation requires that certain activities must be completed by a “Preventive Controls Qualified Individual” who has “successfully completed training in the development and application of risk-based preventive controls”. Successfully completing this course is one way to meet the requirements for a “Preventive Controls Qualified Individual.” The Food Safety Preventive Controls Alliance (FSPCA) Blended Training course was developed to provide an alternative way for individuals to complete the course. The Blended course consists of 2 parts.

Part 1: Online

Enroll online (cost is $208 US paid to ifpti). Once enrolled, you can begin the course immediately. You should plan from 8-12 hours to take the online course. Upon completion of Part 1 you will receive an enrollment ticket and a completion email. You must provide either the enrollment ticket or completion email to Part 2: Instructor Led course hosted by CIFT.

You will not be able to attend Part 2 without providing evidence of Part 1 completion.

Before enrolling for Part 1: Online, please read the background information to understand how the course is structured as well as system requirements.

It is strongly recommended that you use the Participant Manual while completing Part 1: Online. You can access a free PDF Version here. CIFT will provide a hard copy manual at Part 2.

Part 2: Instructor-Led

This instructor-led course is a review of the material from the Part 1: Online course. It will address questions that you may have related to the material in that course, and complete exercises applying the knowledge that you gained through the course materials.

In order to receive a Certificate of Training each individual must:

• Complete the online Part 1 material prior to the instructor-led Part 2 workshop.

• Attend and participate during the in person class.

Cost

$400 for CIFT members; $450 for non-CIFT members.

$25 discount multiple people from same company register at the same time. Does not include Part 1: Online fee.

*$50 cancellation fee and no refunds if cancellation occurs within 7 days of the event. Substitutions can be made at any time as long as they have followed the above rules and have completed part 1.
