We’re rounding out our Getting to Know CIFT blog series with our Vice President and Director of Manufacturing, Troy Wildermuth. Troy has more than 20 years in manufacturing management and engineering experience. He leads the manufacturing team at CIFT. We asked him some questions to get a glimpse into his role and what makes him excited to go to work everyday.
What do you do at CIFT?
I lead a team of Engineers and Business Development professionals to help small and medium sized manufacturers improve. Our manufacturing team has expertise in Lean Manufacturing, ERP, Industry 4.0, 3D printing, DiSC assessments and Workforce Solutions.
What motivates you to wake up and go to work?
Being able to use my many years of manufacturing experience to help a client improve and show them how to sustain that improvement.
What has been your favorite project/initiative so far? Or what do you like the most about CIFT?
There was a project in the past where the client was very hesitant to incorporate Lean and 5S into their production. Once we worked with them and implemented it into their production, it made their life much easier. It was very rewarding helping them.
What’s one thing you want people to know about your role, service or CIFT?
I want people to know that our Lean Manufacturing tools can help with their workforce shortages.
What’s something most people don’t know about you?
I’ve been lucky enough to travel to nine different countries, which has taught me a lot about different cultures. I also love spending time on the river in the summer, boating and pulling the kids on tubes and knee boards.
