Climate Impact on the Agriculture Industry

Join us virtually for the Agribusiness Forum!

Join us in-person or virtually for the May Agribusiness Forum!

This month we will hear from Atmospheric Research Scientist and Climate Specialist, Aaron Wilson, PhD with Byrd Polar and Climate Research Center and OSU Extension at The Ohio State University.

Evidence clearly demonstrates that our climate is changing, but the changes we experience depend on where we live. In this presentation, we will discuss the observed changes in temperature and precipitation over recent decades, from a global overview to local changes right here in Ohio. We will highlight the key challenges facing farmers and agribusinesses across the state, from impacts on planting and harvesting decisions to increased stressors including pest, disease, and nutrient management. We will end our discussion on ways we can individually and collectively adapt to and mitigate future expected changes.

Space for the in-person component is limited to the first 20 registers. Complimentary coffee provided for all in-person attendees.
