Food Scientist

CIFT is seeking a dedicated, energetic, and creative team member who embraces new challenges while also being able to identify and directly deliver assistance to medium-sized food companies across Ohio. The ideal candidate would be willing to work across multiple food and beverage product categories, demonstrating a flexible and adaptable approach to product development and process improvement projects. This is achieved through managing projects such as; conducting bench-top trials to test new product ideas or improve existing recipes, assisting with product scale-up, working closely with organizations to ensure a successful transition from concept to commercialization, and collaborating with the engineering team to develop new processes and technologies needed to bring products to market. This position would also support the development of nutritional labels, label reviews, and support food safety efforts as needed.

This is achieved through your ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring each project meets its deadlines and objectives, being able to work independently or with a team, and demonstrating strong problem-solving, written and verbal communication skills. Having a Master’s Degree or a Bachelor’s in food science and technology or a related field along with five or more years of experience, preferably within a food processing environment.
